Date: Tuesday May 6 at 6pm
SOLD OUT!
The Lord Provost of Glasgow, The Hon Consul of Italy and the Trustees of Italian Scotland have the pleasure of inviting you to a drinks reception and world première of the new comic drama Rabbie and the Italian Poet at the Satinwood Suite, Glasgow City Chambers, George Square Glasgow. This new play, by acclaimed actor Lorenzo Novani and playwright Hilda De Felice, will mark one of the cultural highlights of this year’s Scots-Italian calendar.
Telling the imaginary story of an encounter (in the afterlife!) between Scotland’s bard, Rabbie Burns and the great Italian poet who lived much of his life near Barga, Giovanni Pascoli, the hour-long drama will be performed live for the first time on the night promising laughs, gasps, and food for thought along the way.
The event begins with a drinks reception offered by the City Council and will be followed by an opportunity to mingle with the cast and chat about the themes and subjects raised on the night.
We are sorry to say that the event is already sold out.
