Welcome to our new Consul General
/in NewsWe are delighted to welcome the new Consul General of Italy to Scotland and Northern Ireland, Veronica Ferrucci. We wish our new Consul every happiness in his role and express our support and good wishes for his new mandate. The Consul’s message follows
Veronica Ferrucci was born in L’Aquila on 3rd July 1977.
She entered the diplomatic career in 2001, soon after she graduated in Political Science, with International Affairs specialization.
She served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Directorate General for the Italians Abroad until 2006, when she took up the post of Assistant Consul at the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto (Canada).
She served at the Embassy of Italy in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 2010 to 2014, in the economic-commercial, scientific, and ceremonial branch. She then returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and she engaged in supporting the internationalization of Italian companies until 2018.
In the following four years, she held the position of Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy in The Hague (The Netherlands), dealing with both bilateral relations with the Kingdom of The Netherlands and with multilateral affairs.
She has been Consul General of Italy in Edinburgh since 23rd August 2022.
She has been married to Marco Caldarera since July 2003.
